At Frank D. Moates Elementary, our mission is to ensure that every student reaches their fullest potential without exception. We are dedicated to excellence for each child, offering a diverse curriculum that supports student success both inside and outside the classroom. Through our approach, students cultivate a passion for learning and enhance their social-emotional development.
Named in honor of the late Frank Don Moates, who served as the superintendent of schools for DeSoto ISD from 1974 to 1990, Frank D. Moates Elementary opened its doors in 1988. Initially serving 500 students across 31 classes in the Glenn Heights area of DeSoto, our institution has since grown to accommodate approximately 540 students, continuing its legacy as an esteemed educational establishment.
