Based on state standardized test performance, graduation rates, and college, career, and military readiness, Frank D. Moates Elementary has a TEA (Texas Education Agency) B-letter rating, thanks to our academic, extra-curricular, and co-curricular programs or classes. Our programs include the following:
- G/T, SpEd, and Emergent Bilinguals Program
- Comprehensive School Counseling Program
- Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS)
- Daily ALL Campus Interventions (WIN- TIME)
- CIS-Community in Schools
These programs and classes have helped students at Frank D. Moates Elementary earn double digital gains in reading, math, and science on the STAAR test.
We’ve recently redesigned our curriculum to a STEM-centric model. Across PK through 12th grade, students learn more about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM education is grounded in real-life applications and can provide context for students outside the classroom.
Counseling programs incorporate daily SEL, group counseling, and individual and crisis counseling to help students improve their study skills, relate to their peers, and practice good physical and mental health, all of which can positively impact a student’s ability to reach their academic potential.
We believe children should have a well-rounded education that includes academics, athletics, arts, and at-home learning. Our blended learning strategy includes tactile learning, group learning, and exposure to new technology.
Frank D. Moates Elementary is a literacy-focused foundation to help young readers think big.
This form of learning involves utilizing educational websites, like TumbleBooks. TumbleBooks are talking picture books that can teach kids how to read in a creative and engaging way. Students and teachers will have access to TumbleBooks to improve the educational experience.
