Principal's Bio

PittmanHere at Moates we believe that reading is the key that unlocks a child’s future. Our students are provided with research based reading approaches, such as guided reading practices and small group instruction, without missing out on the phonics instruction that is so important to our young learners. We offer a number of reading incentive programs, and parents are always welcome to come in and read with children.

Community involvement is something we value at Moates. We strive to make our classrooms places where children love to come to learn, and we truly have a “community of learners.” We feel that all our children deserve an outstanding education. Please consider becoming a volunteer both in our school and in the PTA.

Our school is also the site of numerous community events throughout the year. STAAR nights, PTA meetings, community meetings, and youth sporting events take place on our grounds. We are pleased to be able to offer this support and are proud to be regarded as a gathering place for our community. Come join us!
